New Work Horse!
Bart Flegg on December 7, 2009, 10:21 am

In order for us to operate we need trucks. Now I'll be the first to admit it, trucks and Merlin have a love hate relationship. While we love the fact that they carry us to and from job sites and that they haul equipment and supplies they also are an expense and have heavy exhaust emissions. Well on that note, we just got a new truck and have big plans for this employee of ours.

First off it's an older truck a 1991 Ford F150 XLT Lariat. This is a one tough truck, some say that these trucks are the work horse of America, that these generation of F150s built the country as we know it today. Might be my biased opinion but this truck is built better than a lot of the things rolling off the line today and will last longer as well. We plan to bring this truck back to it's original calling as a work truck. We have already replaced the front wheel bearings, rotors, pads, calipers, brake flex hoses, exhaust and both gas tank straps. Plans include ¾ ton rear suspension, bed off frame restoration and many other upgrades. We plan on making the old 302 as fuel efficient as possible. Currently we are consulting some automotive specialists to figure out what direction we should go with this.

The truck is in the early stages of becoming a member of the team so check back for updates and pictures soon.
